Leopard visit to Wellington, Hiranandani Estate Society

Leopard spotting might have become very common with Thane and Borivali Societies which is also matter of worry for residential complexes. As most of these societies are built near to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, it is quite easy for Leopard to move around these buildings.

Recently Wellington Society in Hiranandani Estate shared a CCTV footage where a Big Cat (Leopard) was roaming around parking space of building for a while. This was recorded on 3-September-2013 at about 00:55 am during midnight. This society must be at the distance of about 3 to 4 KM from from the Forest. It is very surprising that a Leopard takes a walk or run across so many societies and roads to reach here.

Also to note that there is no record if he returned back to forest over night or not. That is the reason warning was issued to Hiranandani Foundation School, which is just opposite to Wellington to be careful. All the residents of Hiranandani Estate are requested not to roam alone during dark hours. This could be dangerous and life threatening.
